Helicobacter Pylori – Conventional and complementary treatments for eradication and optimal management

Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) is a curved, Gramnegative bacillus. It is microaerophilic, as well as oxidase, catalase and urease positive. It is implicated in the pathogenesis of non-atrophic and multifocal atrophic gastritis, as well as in the development of gastric cancer (Parsonnett 1994) and gastric lymphoma (Parsonnett 1991); therefore, it has been included by the World Health Organization among the type I carcinogens.
